Coventry has one of the highest rates of under 18 and under 16 pregnancies in the country. About 350 young women under the age of 18 get pregnant every year; over half of these pregnancies will end in an abortion.

The purpose of this section of the website is to provide young people, parents and professionals with some of the information and support needed to support young people to have the knowledge and confidence to resist pressure to have early sex and prevent early pregnancy when they do become sexually active and support them to develop healthy adult relationships in the long term. We also need to support our young parents to achieve the best possible outcomes for themselves and their children.
